about

Sitting quietly on the old stone bench, beams of thick and coloured light pierce through the branches and the courtyard walls. Soft fragrances of moss and flowers, of ambers and smoke vapours suffuse the air. Here in this sanctuary the mind wonders in and out of itself. Sometimes through the inward vaults of the soul and sometimes out into the lively forest, the sounds flow through the imagination and the senses as though pulsing from a single beat.

Contemplative Ruminations invokes the old monastic practice of labouring over a text or an idea. In this case, it is the field of the direct felt experience of nature which one engages in, awakening one's consciousness to a living and breathing musical world. A slow, patient, and deep sonic affinity builds up through each piece, grounding the listener in a poetic kinship between mind and nature.

Cloaked in the soft glow of a washed up memory, the music unfolds in the present as though pouring forth from the distant sources of time. At once an inner journey and an outer exploration, Contemplative Ruminations intends to resound the soul's deep yearning for a forgotten beauty that is yet to come.
